Bungie also uses Festival masks to provide fun nods to the strangest antics that happen within the Destiny community. Destiny 2 has continued the tradition, allowing Guardians to mimic relevant characters from the last year's worth of story. At the time, Guardians could run around pretending to be the likes of Oryx, king of the Osmium Court, or even his son Crota. While Eris Morn may no longer be around to give Guardians tiny boxes of raisins, masks have been a mainstay of Bungie's Halloween-themed Festival of the Lost since the days of Destiny: The Taken King.
